Ben van Lierop would like to associate with young people who have an interest in the culture and history of Japan. He wants to learn from others by listening, asking questions, and by promoting cross-cultural understanding through dialog, discussion and mutual respect. He wishes to get involved in  membership development and fundraising. Ben is the former Executive Director of JASM, and serves in other organizations as follows:

1. Saint Paul - Nagasaki Sister City Committee Board Member, nomination committee 

2. Park Valley Association, Neighborhood non-profit organization, Treasurer 

3. St. Luke Presbyterian Church, “Hermanos” Men’s Group, Member of the Leadership Team
